LiveJournal Domain Name Poofed?

LiveJournal.com has apparently vanished. It no longer points to an IP address.

Huh, looks like livejournal.org is gone as well. As well as SixApart.com, the parent company. Danga.com is missing... Vox appears to resolve to 204.9.178.111, but doesn't want to load....

Man, I need an alternative to contact the people I only know via livejournal...

Must say this is rather unusual. I've seen systems go down, but typically you get a timed-out error message, but getting an "cannot resolve www.livejournal.com: Unknown host" error is highly unusual. I've got phone numbers, but... calling them might not help matters.

And yes, it's not just me. I've poked another friend and had her verify that it's offline. And I tried OpenDNS' servers, which reported the same thing.

Musicals

I've decided to upload the massive collection of musicals (broadway, off-broadway, etc? - about 20GB, ~190 musicals...) that I've collected over the past year and so. After a poll on livejournal (http://ibneko.livejournal.com/602848.html), I'll be posting them on sendspace, in alphabetical order, in links provided in livejournal friends-only posts, 1-3 musicals daily.

---
Ok, scratch this - not going to post them over to xanga. Sorry guys. Xanga has no "friends-only" posts. There is protected, but the limit of 10 people is stupid.

Go sign up for livejournal if you're interested. The first two musicals for today have already been posted. Sorry. Blame Xanga. Oh, yeah, and uh, do comment with your livejournal username so I can add you as a friend (else you won't see the posts with musicals for downloading, which would be kinda silly). Oh, Otherwise, go comment on my recent facebook note, if you have me on facebook - if enough people there are interested, I'll crosspost the download links there.

[note: in other news, I'll get around to finishing the livejournal to xanga mirroring script sometime. I promise. ^^;;; ]

Right.

Hopefully, I'll have updated my livejournal->xanga mirroring script by the time I get back from Taiwan. So entries will resume then (Dec. 29th?).

If not, a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all.

(why the heck is iCab the only browser that lets me log my connections/transcript data to a logfile...?!?)

Whoops, it's been a while since I've run the mirroring script - almost a month. Seems they've added tag support - awesomeness. Will have to hack that into my script. Should probably do something about the userpic support as well.

Wonder if I should just modify the script so it posts individual entries, instead of a one big chunk of accumulated entries over the past 12 hours.

On second thought, maybe I should just rewrite the entire script so it makes use of rss feeds instead of doing screenscraping. ^^;; That's going to take more time, but I'll be able to use the code for Highbrow...
